BIOGRAPHY
I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 1997 with a Masters Degree in technology and business education.
In the fall of that year, I came to Peninsula College as a full-time instructor. I am presently program coordinator for the Administrative Office Systems program and have recently redesigned the program to include a more comprehensive and integrated program for office professionals. Teaching at both the high school and college level has been both a challenging and rewarding experience.
My background also includes working for information technology companies as an administrative assistant.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe in a renewed emphasis on workplace habits and skills. It is my belief that it is not the number of words a minute you type or the number of software programs that you know, but rather a good work ethic and a positive attitude, as well as the ability to work in teams and engage in critical thinking as decision makers.
In short, I believe soft skills are a major part of the business curriculum since they will affect each of my student's ability to get along with other people both in his/her professional and personal life.
