Position: Early Childhood Specialist 1

Position Description: 
Peninsula College is recruiting for a part-time Early Childhood Specialist 1 to provide child care at the Early Head Start Program located at 2319 S. Francis Street in Port Angeles.

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality child care for infants and toddlers.

  • Employment Type: Part-time Hourly

    Qualifications: 
  • Experience in an early childhood program.
  • Early Childhood Education Degree or Coursework.

  • Physical Requirements: 
  • Requires the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, bend and work with children on the floor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and hold children and equipment up to forty (40) pounds.

  • Terms of Employment: 
  • Part-time hourly position; average 18-20 hours per week.
  • Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday 12:00 to 4:30 pm.
  • Salary: $12.14 per hour.
  • Completion of HIV/AIDS and blood borne pathogen training upon employment.
  • Negative TB test prior to employment.
  • Valid Food Handler's permit, CPR & First Aid Card for Adults and Children, and Criminal History and Background Check clearance prior to starting work.
  • Completion of 20 hours of Basic Start Training.
  • Physical examination verification signed by health care provider verifying candidate is free from communicable disease and in general good health to be working with young children.
