AMERICAN CONVERSATIONS
Through this "signature" event, the Foundation looks to accomplish three things:
  • To present to the campus community and to the community at large a major figure in America for the purpose of having true conversations on issues of importance in American life;
  • To promote the exchange of ideas, higher education, and learning in this vibrant rural community; and in doing so, to inspire other rural communities to do the same; and
  • To raise funds for Peninsula College in an interesting and inspiring way

Featured speakers in past years have included Educator, Environmentalist and Film Producer, Jean-Michel Cousteau, Genome Pioneer, Dr.Georgia Dunston, CNN Correspondent Peter Arnett; Apollo 13 Astronaut Fred Haise; White House Press Secretary Helen Thomas; Sergei Khrushchev, son of former Soviet Premiere Nikita Khrushchev; Grammy winning fiddler, violinist and composer, Mark O'Connor; former White House Press Secretary Marlin Fitzwater; Amy Vedder, Co-Founder, Mountain Gorilla Project and Billy Beane, General Manager for the Oakland A's.
