The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program provides instruction for adults in fundamental academic and pre-occupational skills, with an emphasis on reading, math, writing, and basic computer literacy. Textbooks and other materials are provided for in-class use.
Students enter this course with a variety of needs which may include: - GED program preparation
- Improving reading and/or math skills
- Improving employability
- Meeting entrance requirements of vocational programs and college credit classes
- Personal growth
- College placement test preparation
There are no academic prerequisites, however:
- Students must be at least 16 years of age
- Students 16-18 years of age may need a formal release from compulsory high school education
- High school students who are 16-20 years of age may also attend upon referral from an area high school.
