Job Related Skills


The Basic Computer Literacy course provides an introduction to computers and basic computer terminology.
  • Students will be introduced to Windows and several other Microsoft programs and will learn how to use a mouse, format disks, manage files, and use basic commands.
  • Browsing the Internet and setting up an email address may also be covered.
  • This class is designed for those students enrolled in other Basic Skills classes who are uncomfortable or unfamiliar with computers and who wish to build their confidence and prepare for faster-paced college-level computer courses.
The Job Readiness minicourses address the heart of employability.
  • Adults are given the opportunity to develop the skills that are critical to the process of selecting, obtaining, and maintaining employment.
  • Instruction includes topics in job-search methods, identification of personal skills, goal setting, career exploration, customer skills, basic skills, and other employment issues.
