PLANTS OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST

3 credits
Introduction to flowering plants, conifers, ferns, and mosses of the Pacific Northwest, with emphasis on identification, life history, ecological relationships, and distribution. Two Saturday field trips required.

BOT 101L
INTRODUCTION TO BOTANY

5 credits
General plant biology, with emphasis on the anatomy, physiology, ecology, and genetics of common flowering plants. Three hours lecture, four hours laboratory per week. Meets distribution credit in Natural Sciences.

BOT 110L
PLANT KINGDOM

5 credits
Study of evolutionary relationships and structural and ecological features of major plant divisions, algae through angiosperms. Three hours lecture, four hours laboratory per week. Recommended: strong high school biology, college biology, or BOT 101L. Meets distribution credit in Natural Sciences.
