Undergraduate Research
Undergraduate students in this program will have access to a wide variety of research opportunities and internships, such as in forestry, fisheries, restoration ecology, marine and coastal assessment, molecular ecology, epidemiology, and natural resources management. These experiences, which are largely unavailable to first and second year students elsewhere, will allow them to acquire advanced skills and experience with the scientific method and ecological-based research. This provides students the advantage of acquiring job- and knowledge-based hands-on experience in the field prior to their junior year of college. It also helps develop significant networking connections with a wide range of academic, state, federal and tribal scientists for future opportunities.
