The Center of Excellence at Peninsula College serves as a center for education, training, consulting, and research that explores the interactions between the natural resources and environment of the Pacific Northwest and the communities and economies that rely on them to survive.
As a Center, we can transform our knowledge and skills into services or products customized to your needs.
A Center of Excellence is broadly defined as a center of expertise that communities, businesses, government agencies, non-profits, and industries can rely on to explore and understand their particular needs and interests, to help solve their knowledge and skill-related problems, to provide avenues for new, well-trained workers or act as a source for upgrading an existing workforce, to involve students in research activities, to find answers to technical questions, and to promote applied research in particular fields.
One of our Center's ongoing goals is to work with communities, government agencies, and businesses to realize opportunities that might arise from an integrated exploration of environmental, education, and economic issues that could support sustainable development. Through partnerships with Economic Development Councils, other educational institutions, and a variety of government agencies, and businesses, the Center addresses environmental and resource management issues, as well as workforce development and training. The Center’s comprehensive scope ensures that it can help support the many needs and aspirations of the Pacific Northwest.
