                                        Picture
In October 2006, the National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA) awarded a three-year, $1.6 million grant to the North Olympic Peninsula Resource Conservation & Development Council (NOP RC&D) to develop a Solutions Network for the North Olympic Peninsula. Peninsula College's NASA Lab maintains the Dungeness River Hybrid Hydrological Forecasting Model, as well as providing internships for regional students in GIS, remote sensing, and spatial analysis.

NASA’s Applied Sciences Program extends the results of NASA Earth-Sun system science research and knowledge beyond the science and research communities to contribute to national priority applications with societal benefits. This is accomplished through the development or enhancement of systems, knowledge bases, networks, integrated system solutions (ISS), and human capital necessary to enable NASA’s Applied Sciences Program to achieve its objectives.
