Poetry and Place
Among the poets who have read in the Foothills Series at Peninsula College are Gary Snyder, John Daniel, Jody Aliesan, Tess Gallagher, Holly Hughes, Bill Yake, Tom Jay, and Tim McNulty. Some might use the words bioregional, or regional, or place-based to describe their work. No matter which term is applied, each values the intersection between science and the humanities deeply and the Center for Environmental Humanities seeks to advance this tradition by continuing to invite poets to the college for noon readings and in addition to feature poems and poets on this site.
