Collections

Books
The LMC’s book collection is developed to support curriculum that is specific to Peninsula College. If you’re looking for a book, you can access the online Catalog. Search options include subject, title, author, and keyword. Students enrolled in a TeleLearning course may request books online.

Chamber Music
The Chamber Music Collection is comprised of sheet music. This collection is searchable online for ease of access.

College Catalogs
The LMC retains a small collection of College Catalogs for colleges and universities in the state of Washington. Most colleges and universities make their course catalogs available at their websites.

Electronic Resources
Electronic Resources include both Web-based and CD-ROM-based resources. These include electronic indexes to newspapers, periodicals, literary resources, and reference sources. Many of these resources are in fulltext.

Multimedia
The LMC MultiMedia Collection includes a variety of media acquired by faculty for use in the classroom to supplement instruction. While these resources may be borrowed only by faculty, students may view and/or listen to multimedia resources in the Library/Media Center (Building B). Individual carrels are equipped with a variety of audiovisual equipment to facilitate student use of media.

Periodicals
The Peninsula College Library/Media Center subscribes to over 400 journals, magazines, and newspapers. You can search for specific titles, using the LMC online catalog or peruse an alphabetical list.

Reference
The Reference Collection consists of dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauri, directories, almanacs, and other, similar one-stop resources. Reference books are typically used to locate a fact, gain a general overview of a complex subject, or identify an external information source.

Reserve
Items placed on “reserve” are normally high-demand items and may be borrowed for only a short period of time. The Reserve Collection changes from quarter-to-quarter, reflecting the changes in course offerings and assignments from quarter-to-quarter.
