Pirates enjoy banner season

The Pirates came into 2009 with back-to-back NWAACC Final Four appearances and four straight trips to the playoffs - and they went out with their first straight playoff appearance, including a first-round win, but top-ranked Chemeketa knocked them out in the quarterfinals. It was a season that started in Ireland and very possibly could have ended with an NWAACC title, but things did not go PC's way and they settled for a top eight finish. Look for the Pirate sophomores to continue on to great careers and for the freshmen to work hard to go even further in 2010.
