FAREWELL RECEPTION TO HONOR OUTGOING PC PRESIDENT DR. TOM KEEGAN...
All Olympic Peninsula residents are invited to join in a special farewell reception honoring outgoing Peninsula College President Dr. Tom Keegan on Thursday, February 2. The reception will be held in the college’s Pirate Union Building (PUB) on the main campus in Port Angeles from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
February 2 also marks Dr. Keegan’s last day at Peninsula College after 11 years as its president. He will assume his new post as president of Skagit Valley College on March 3. On January 10, Dr. Keegan was honored by the Peninsula College Board of Trustees for his years of exemplary service as President of Peninsula College. By unanimous vote, the Board agreed to rename the Science and Technology building, Keegan Hall, in his honor.
Dr. Keegan led the College through dramatic enrollment growth, a transformation of the teaching and learning environment, and a $120 million capital construction campaign, which restored or replaced 75% of campus facilities, including the construction of the first Longhouse on a community college campus in the nation.
At the time of the Board’s recognition, Dr. Keegan said, “I am very honored and humbled to be recognized in this manner. My years at Peninsula College have been very rewarding and inspiring for me. I am grateful for this honor and feel very fortunate to have worked with such dedicated and considerate Board members, as well as the many wonderful College faculty and staff.”
