Washington State’s Supreme Court Public Forum : Monday, October 26, 2009 - Tuesday, October 27, 2009Washington State’s Supreme Court’s nine justices will hold public forums, hear arguments on real cases, lunch with students and speak to classes regarding the constitution and legal careers in a community visit to Peninsula College on Monday and Tuesday, October 26 and 27.
The Justices are Chief Justice Gerry Alexander and Justices Charles W. Johnson, Barbara A. Madsen, Richard B. Sanders, Tom Chambers, Susan Owens, Mary Fairhurst, James M. Johnson and Debra Stephens.
“The Court enjoys visiting our state’s local colleges,” says Chief Justice Gerry Alexander. “In addition to the students, we encourage anyone interested in learning more about the judicial branch of government to see the workings of the highest court up close and personal.”
For more than a decade, the Court has heard cases “on the road” three times a year in an outreach effort that allows citizens to see the court in action in their local communities. The state’s highest court is located in Olympia in the Temple of Justice on the state capitol grounds.

He is also planning screenings for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and a UN delegation and has been asked to testify on the topic in front of Congress.
