Tidepools 2012...

The Peninsula College 2012 Tidepools staff is seeking submissions of poetry, prose (short stories and essays under 3,000 words), art, photography and original music for publication in the annual literary and art magazine. All submissions must be postmarked by January 11, 2012.

The contest is judged blindly and is open to amateur and professional writers, musicians, and artists of all ages in Clallam and Jefferson Counties. Everyone is encouraged to submit their art pieces for consideration in the 48th edition of Tidepools.

Tidepools is published annually by Peninsula College students and staff and is sponsored by the Peninsula College Associated Student Council and the Peninsula Daily News. The magazine consists of contest-winning entries, as well as other submissions selected by Tidepools staff.

Cash prizes are awarded in adult and youth categories for poetry, prose, art, photography and music. Each adult category has a $100 prize for first place. Second and third place are guaranteed publication. Each youth category has one $25.00 prize. Contest entry fees for adults are $5.00 per submission and youths (6-17) are $2.50 per submission. Non-contest entries will not be eligible for prizes and do not require an entry fee to be considered for publication in the magazine.

Entry forms are available in the Peninsula Daily News, and for the first time, submissions may be entered online at:  www.pencol.edu/tidepools. Entry forms may also be found at public libraries as well as the following locations:
