The step-by-step process for
advising and registration for degree-seeking and high school-completion
students follows:
ADVISING
• After you complete an application for admission, take
the placement
exam, and attend a new
student orientation.
You are now ready to meet with an academic advisor.
•
If you are a new student, your first advising session will be with an
advisor in Counseling Services. To schedule an appointment, contact the
office at: (360) 417-6340 or toll free 1-877-452-9277. Call the Forks
(360) 374-3223 or Port Townsend (360) 385-4605 extension sites for help
at these campus locations.
•
If you are a transfer student from another college, you can also set
up an advising appointment by calling Counseling Services at (360) 417-6340
or toll free 1-877-452-9277. Call the Forks (360) 374-3223 or Port Townsend
(360) 385-4605 extension sites for help at these campus locations. It
is highly recommended that you have official copies of your transcripts
sent to Enrollment Services before this appointment, so the transcripts
can be evaluated for transfer credit at Peninsula College. You should also bring unofficial
transcripts to your appointment.
•
If you are in a professional and technical education/Associate of Applied Science
degree (AAS), or certification program, you will be assigned to an instructor
or faculty member in that program after your first appointment in Counseling
Services.
•
If you are planning to transfer and/or complete an Associate of Arts
(AA) degree, Associate of Arts Honors (AAH) degree, or Associate of Science
(AS) degree, you will be assigned a faculty member as an advisor after
your first appointment in Counseling Services.
•
If you are a Running Start student or Adult High School Diploma student,
you will meet with an assigned advisor in Counseling Services and register
for classes each quarter only after meeting with your advisor. An advisor
in Counseling Services must also approve changes in your class schedule.
•
Contact your advisor directly each quarter to set up an advising appointment
prior to registration. Call (360) 452-9277 or toll free 1-877-452-9277.
Call the Forks (360) 374-3223 or Port Townsend (360) 385-4605 extension
sites for help at these campus locations.
WHAT IS MY PIN NUMBER?
While you are a student at Peninsula College, you will need to access
your student records online by using your student pin number. Initially
your pin number is your six-digit birth date, but you may change it
at any time online: http://www.ctc.edu/~pens/wts/student/.
For registration purposes only, you are assigned a new pin number each
quarter in order
to register. You must get your registration pin number from your advisor.
REGISTRATION
After you see an advisor, you are ready to register for classes.
- Read the student bulletin to find out when registration begins.
- Check
your registration access time. This is the time you can begin to
register. It is NOT an appointment with an advisor. You can find
your Registration Appointment here: http://www.ctc.edu/~pens/wts/student/
- Meet
with your advisor and decide which classes you need to take. Quarterly
class schedules are available on campus or on the
web at: http://pc.ctc.edu/enrolled/studentcenter/schedules.asp
SCHEDULE PLANNER
Plan your preferred course schedule in advance of your appointment with
your advisor.
- Click on Schedule Planner: http://www.ctc.edu/~pens/wts/student/
- Select
the quarter from the drop-down box and click “Select
Courses.”
- Reserve the times you are not available for classes by clicking
individual boxes in the Time Grid. You can also reserve the hour for
every day
by clicking in the far left column or whole day by clicking the column
heading.
- Type in course(s) you need or click on “View Course List” to
select courses from an alphabetical listing.
- Click on “Submit Selections.”
- Select the desired course(s) and click “Register.” This
will take you to web registration, “Registration Login.”
WEB REGISTRATION
- Click on Web Registration: http://www.ctc.edu/~pens/wts/student/
- Enter
your student ID and the registration pin number assigned to you by
your advisor.
- Click register.
- A reminder of the tuition due date will be displayed.
If you are registering after this date, tuition is due at the time
of registration.
- Verify your name and the quarter.
- Enter the item number for the
course(s) you want in the boxes on the left hand side. The course(s)
you selected will be processed. You
can
also add and drop classes from this screen. Click “Finish” when
completed.
- Click “View My Schedule” to print your schedule.
- Be sure to close
the browser to protect your privacy.
WHAT DO I DO IF A CLASS IS FULL?
If a class is full, the class may have a wait list you can sign up for.
As students change their schedules or are dropped for nonpayment of
tuition, students on the wait lists fill the open spots. If you
decide to sign up for a wait list, it will be your responsibility to
check your schedule daily to see if you have been enrolled in the class.
If adding a course from the wait list creates a conflict in your schedule,
it will be your responsibility to correct your schedule.
WHAT DOES “ARR” MEAN?
The abbreviation “ARR” means “by arrangement.” Typically,
you will see this abbreviation if you are registering for a distance
learning course, a course with variable time, or an independent study
course where you make arrangements with the instructor. Click
here for a faculty directory.
WHO IS “STAFF?”
Many courses in the course schedule will have “Staff” listed
as the instructor. This means that the course(s) may either be taught
by an adjunct (part-time) instructor or at the time of the printing of
the schedule, an instructor was not yet assigned to the course.
HOW CAN I CHANGE MY SCHEDULE?
You can change your schedule by following the web registration instructions
above. Don’t forget that changes in your schedule may impact
your Financial Aid. Call the Financial Aid for more information, (360)
417-6390 or toll free 1-877-452-9277.
HOW CAN I GET A COPY OF MY SCHEDULE?
It’s a good idea to print out and check your schedule prior to
the start of classes. Often instructors and room assignments change after
registration. To print a copy of your schedule, go to My Classes online:
http://www.ctc.edu/~pens/wts/student.
