2012-2013 Application Process and Deadlines


To apply for federal, state, and institutional aid, complete the following steps.  You are responsible for following all directions and meeting all application deadlines. Peninsula College cannot be held responsible for problems and delays because you did not follow directions or meet a deadline

We recommend you submit your FAFSA AT LEAST 2 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE DEADLINE DATE for the quarter you plan to enroll.

A new FAFSA is required every year.

Deadline Dates:

 Summer/Fall Priority 2012: May 1, 2012

Fall 2012: July 19, 2012

Winter 2013: November 27, 2012

Spring 2013: February 27, 2013 

 

1.      Apply for Admission

New students are required to complete an admission application. To apply online go to https://www.public.ctc.edu/ApplicantWebClient/Applicant/ApplWelcome.aspx.

2.      Check Your Program of Study

Make sure the college has you signed up for the correct degree or certificate you intend to complete. If you need assistance, please call Student Services at 360-417-6340.

3.      Complete Your 2012-2013 FAFSA

Go to www.fafsa.gov or call the Department of Education (1-800-433-3243) to request a paper version. Your FAFSA must be submitted to the Federal Processor.  The Peninsula College school code is 003786.

Once processed, a copy of your FAFSA will be sent to the school(s) you listed on the FAFSA:

  • in about 2 weeks if you submit your FAFSA via the web  (recommended)
  • in approximately 6 weeks if you submit a paper FAFSA

The Federal Processor will send you a Student Aid Report (SAR) or a SAR Information Acknowledgement. If you provide a valid e-mail address, your SAR will be emailed to you.

4.      Check Your Portal and Complete Your File

Your 2012 - 2013 Portal will not be available until we receive your initial FAFSA information from the Federal Processor.  After we receive a copy of your FAFSA, we will notify you via email or mail to check your Portal. We expect to start receiving FAFSAs in late March 2012.

Your Portal will list any additional documents we need from you and/or what (if any) additional actions you must take.  In order to meet the deadline, you must complete ALL required actions on or before the deadline date. Files are reviewed in the order they are completed, so you should complete your file as soon as possible.

5.       Read All Required Information

To receive financial aid, you may be required to take additional steps or meet certain conditions. It is your responsibility to read all information listed on our web pages, and any related information that may be provided to you by the Financial Aid Office or Peninsula College.
