Counseling Services
The Student Development Center provides a variety of programs and services designed to help students adjust to college life, ranging from college enrollment procedures and advising assistance, to college transfer information and career planning and assessment.
Make the Student Development Center your first stop if you want to schedule a campus tour, are seeking help in sorting through personal and professional objectives, or are seeking personal enrichment opportunities. Our staff will be ready to help.
Some of the many services we provide include:
- Information and academic advising on Peninsula College programs, both professional technical and academic transfer.
- General counseling, crisis intervention, and referral for students who express an immediate need for assistance.
- Academic advising for Running Start Students.
- Information on transferring to four-year institutions. Catalogs and brochures from many colleges and universities are available for review.
- Information and support for multicultural students, including Native American Nations. Go to Multicultural Services.
- Career-planning assistance through career assessment, counseling, and computerized career information. Go to Career Services.
- Information for veterans. Go to Veterans Services.
- Assistance for students with disabilities. Go to Services for Students with DisAbilities.
- Information on assistance programs for working parents, single parents, low-income students, older students who need support returning to school, unemployed students, high school drop-outs, and other students. Go to Workfirst.
- Testing and assessment.
- Tutorial program for registered Peninsula College students who are making unsatisfactory progress.
