Research has shown that strength training can turn back the biological clock. Two days per week can help you gain strength, bone density, balance, flexibility, vitality, energy, and enjoyment in life's activities. Learn basics of strength training and many other ways to reverse the aging process. Suggested reading: Strong Women Stay Young by Miriamm E. Nelson, Ph.D. Instructor is certified by the ACSM as a personal trainer and teaches yoga and wellness at Peninsula College.

This class is for beginning Tai Chi students. Tai Chi is an ancient form of Chinese exercise and self-defense designed to improve physical health, decrease stress, and bring unity to mind, body and spirit. Tai Chi uses martial arts movements performed very slowly in order to improve balance coordination and strength. It is often called "moving meditation." Tai Chi is a beautiful flowing set of exercises that improves flexibility, coordination, balance and cardiovascular fitness.

This class is for students that have taken the Beginning Tai Chi class. Tai Chi is an ancient form of Chinese exercise designed to improve physical health and decrease stress. Performing martial arts movements very slowly, Tai Chi is a great way to improve flexibility, coordination, balance and cardiovascular fitness for all ages and abilities. This class allows students to follow the entire form each class and then focus on individual practice.
