C-SF 011 THEATRE IMMERSION

Novices and experienced actors are invited to participate in this unique theatre experience. After two brief preparatory meetings, students will design, rehearse, and perform a play in a single week. The class will provide students of all levels with intense exposure to every aspect of the theatre in a short time frame. Each student will be offered a customized roll in scenes selected from historic plays. They will be given the opportunity to help create sets, props, and costumes and take part in a concentrated weeklong rehearsal June 7-12 culminating in performances the weekend of June 13th and 14th. The world of investing changes quickly and new trends can mean challenges and opportunities. The class will explore the most current events in the economy and in investing and give you insights into how the market can work for you.

S-SF 016 STORY TELLING

Reconnect with the ancient art of storytelling. Strengthen your ability to express yourself with power and sensitivity while learning to create verbal magic out of special memories or a treasured folktale. Add vitality to public speaking, teaching, or conversation. Sweaty palms and stomach butterflies can enhance, not inhibit, the natural storyteller within you. The class includes a series of participatory exercises that are designed to loosen the inhibitions and stimulate creativity and will have students telling stories before the first session is finished. Participants will be encouraged to learn a story of their choice and perform it at the last session. Led by a professional storyteller who has been teaching the art of storytelling to diverse groups for more than six years.
